    Local Boy Scouts start popcorn fundraiser

    Local cub scouts and boy scouts have kicked off their biggest fundraiser of the year selling popcorn. During a press conference Monday at Citizens National Bank, the Choctaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts said flavors include salted caramel, unbelievable butter, premium caramel corn, and more. The council said the fundraising goal is to sell $200,000 in popcorn. The funds will be used to help local boys pay for scouting uniforms, attend camp, and purchase equipment they ne

    Sharp shooters showed off their skills yesterday at Camp Binachi. The Choctaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts held its annual sporting clays fundraiser. “We have 29 teams shooting today and tomorrow.     Choctaw Area Boy Scouts hosts fall recruitment

    The Choctaw Area of the Boy Scouts of America invites families to “Rocket Into Scouting” and sign up for the Scout program this Saturday at Northeast Lauderdale Middle School. “We just came up with the idea of doing the rockets because boys are liking the rocket theme. So we came up with the idea to let them build a rocket and be able to shoot it off,” said Rodney Forbis, the district executive of the Choctaw Area Council.
