Community Foundation Awards Grants

Today the Community Foundation of East Mississippi held a check presentation ceremony. The group awarded grants to community organizations that focus on the arts, animal welfare, and historic preservation in the African American community.
“There are nine different organizations that are receiving grants today, even though we are awarding four grants. Our board decided to award those grants to multiple recipients. The total amount that we are awarding today is over $10,000,” said Becky Glover, the community foundation’s executive director.
The grants were funded through the Margaret Dulaney, Susan b. Herron, Lucky’s Legacy, and Charles L. Young Sr. endowments. So far, the community foundation has awarded $134,000 to various non-profits in East Mississippi this year.
