Just in time for Christmas shopping… a new downtown boutique called Uptown Girl has opened its doors for business. Yesterday was the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“Everything is very affordable from boutique clothing to purses to jewelry to gifts and much more,” said Tracie Brantley, the owner.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, members of the community came inside to do a bit of shopping.
“I love shopping here. It’s great to come and buy gifts for everyone, so I have really enjoyed it,” said Kristi Tew.
Opening the store has fulfilled the dreams of a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and daughter.
“Since I was a little girl we loved to just dress up and have fun together. There’s four generations of us that’s had a blast together. We’re excited to bring that to downtown meridian and just share the beauty with other people,” said Bailee Vargas, Brantley’s daughter.
The four women have big hopes for what lie ahead.
“It really helped out having the support from the community downtown, and with the new building being across the street, it will be a lot of traffic in the area. The area just helped us to open up to the community,” said Vargas.
Uptown girl is located at 2116 Front St. It’s open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. To 3 p.m. During this month on Thursdays, the store will stay open until 8.
