On Saturday, the Temple Theater was the filming location for the Lifetime dance show “Bring It.” Dance groups including The Dancing Dolls, the Purple Diamonds, the Explosive Diamonds, and the Elite Starz of Nashville came for some friendly competition.
“There’s a lot of dancing, a lot of bucking, big costuming, grand performances,” said Tory Davis, the show’s producer.
Fans who watch the show and fans of certain cast members came to show their support.
“My niece is on the team. Her name is Tenesha Roberts. She is actually one of the characters on the ‘bring it’ show on lifetime. We always try to go and support her no matter where they’re performing,” said Missy Roberts.
Some of the cast members are even from Meridian.
“We love being on the show. We’re like a real family. We travel, we have fun together, we laugh and cry, we do everything, but most importantly we support each other all the way,” said Tamala Jones Brooks, who is Tenesha Robert’s mom.
Members from the community lined up two hours before the event started. People were really excited to see their favorite teams battle to see who had the best dance skills.
“We came out to support the purple diamonds. My granddaughter is a part of that team, as well as my granddaughter here. So, we’re out here in support of the purple diamonds,” said Pamala Jefferson.
Davis said the show came to Meridian to thank its fans.
“A lot of our fans are here in Meridian, Mississippi, and we love to give back to our fans, which is why it’s a free competition. Since we have a big following here we want to come and show you guys a good time now in Meridian, since we appreciate all your fandomship.”
The filming that took place on Saturday will be featured in the show’s fourth season, which began this month.
