Pine Lake Fellowship Camp preps for summer camp

With summer just around the corner, Pine Lake Fellowship Camp is gearing up for summer camp.

“We run week-long, sleep-away programs for children and youth ages seven through 17. We run about six weeks of programming,” said Executive Director Matt Graybill.

During the week, kids will have the opportunity to make new friends, explore nature, and have lots of fun.

“Things like the zip-line, rope swinging, fishing, swimming, boating, and our big group game. Each evening after supper we’ll play games like capture-the-flag, eagle’s nest, and dodgeball,” said Graybill.

Summer camp runs from June 1st through July 1st and July 17th through 20th. Registration is

still open.

“Camp is very important for a multitude of reasons. It builds community. Helps kids do things they would never think of doing. It helps them build confidence. They also have role models and positive influences they can look up to. Our camp is also a faith-based Christian camp. Kids are also getting input about who god is and how they can develop a relationship with Jesus Christ,” said Graybill.

If you wish to learn more about the summer camp, there’s an open house this Saturday form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Open house is a great time for people who are new to Pine Lake, to come and see what we’re about. To meet the people and to see what our facilities are like,” said Program Director Suzanne Opel.

The cost for attending a full week of summer camp is $195 up until May 1st. After that, it will cost $235.
