5k run to benefit Batson Children’s Hospital

Clarkco Ambassadors and Clarkco State Park are calling all residents to run for the little ones. A 5k run/walk will be held at the park on June 10th starting at 8 a.m.
“We go down through and towards our cabins. We come back and run down past the park and out to 145 and then come back in the entrance. Then after we have that race we will have a one-mile fun run,” said Marsha Roberts, the race organizer.
The event will benefit the Blair Batson hospital in Jackson.
“Blair Batson has helped a lot of people here in our community and across the state. They actually work with children in all 82 counties of Mississippi and other states as well. They have proven to be a very good hospital for children and taking care of the children. We just wanted to recognize them and help them in any way we can,” said Roberts.
Prior to the race, a reception will take place on April 30th.
“That will be for Blair Batson patients. Anyone who has signed up to run, or any sponsor that’s already come on board, can come to our reception. It will be here at the park,” said Roberts.
For those who wish to participate in the race, registration fees are $25 for the run/walk and 15$ for the fun run if paid by May 1st. After that, fees will go up by $5.
“You’re guaranteed a shirt if your register by May 15, so we hope everybody will get on board and register for us,” said Roberts.
