Anderson Cup 5k this Saturday.
For 34 years, the Anderson Cup road race has taken over the streets of downtown meridian. The race, which starts at the hospital, takes runners on a scenic route, through the streets of the city.
The fitness center general manager, Adam Hodges says, “The race begins here, just outside the courtyard, and runs towards downtown. pretty much runs all round downtown, and then comes back up 22nd avenue and finishes at the same place up here on campus.”
The race takes place this Saturday beginning at 8am, and that consists of a 5k race, a 2-mile walk, and a 1 mile fun run. The cost is $20 to enter and all of the proceeds from the race, go toward a special cause, The Meridian Freedom Project.
