Capital murder suspect found

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Department has taken into custody Joshua Allen Miller, who’s accused of killing Johnny Wayne James.
“We brought him in shortly after 8 o’clock this morning,” said Sheriff Todd Kemp.
It’s been a long weekend for Clarke County deputies. Saturday morning, they began looking for Miller, who they say killed James before stealing his car. It happened on Country Road 350 near Stonewall.
“He had exasperated all of his communication devices as well as his mode of transportation, so we felt like he was still there on foot somewhere,” said Kemp.
Authorities spotted the vehicle Sunday morning on I-59 and found Miller at a Ramada Inn Hotel in downtown Laurel.
Deputies believe Miller and James had a close, personal relationship. They said the two were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
“Something caused this guy to snap and kill his friend,” said Kemp.
A witness was also in the car with Miller and James. He said Miller was sitting in the back seat when he fired a shot, killing James.
“The shooter jumped in to the driver seat and shoved Mr. James out into the highway. It was a very brutal situation,” said Kemp.
The witness then jumped out of the moving vehicle. A motorist later found James’ dead body in the middle of the road. Miller currently awaits trial.
