NARP rallies to save funding for Amtrak trains

The National Association of Railroad Passengers oppose 2018 budget cuts from the White House that could potentially eliminate Amtrak train service in more than 220 cities. The association held a “Rally for Trains” campaign today in Birmingham, New Orleans, and across the nation. An event was scheduled here at Union Station but was canceled. The association said the budget cuts could hurt small towns that rely on rail transit jobs and services.
