Future Stars Basketball Camp.

Marcus Campbells Future stars basketball camp started this morning at Sumpter Central High school.
“Well this is a 17 year basketball camp that is happening right now. And we want all the young people to know that this is not just a happen by night event. This camp has always been well prepared. There has been a lot of enthusiasm and energy put in. And a lot of great volunteers and a lot of sponsors to make this camp be all that it has become.”
Marcus and his cousing NBA legend Charles Oakley will spend the next two days helping kids with the basic fundamentals of basketball.
“Well this is a 2 day camp. It is a free 2 day camp. With all of the amenities of free meals, free t-shirts. Free basketballs. Kids will get trophies. They will have the oportinuty to win extra great hardware. So, this camp invokes life skills.”
And all the coaches agree, that the future starts basketball camp is as much about basketball fundamentals, as it is about life skills.
“Well I want these kids to leave from this camp as we always do, how to respect people. I hope they can learn something. Not just on the basketball court but about life. Education wise. They can grow every year and try to learn something that is going to help you better in life.”
