"Stuff the Van" event at Bedford Care Center of Marion

This afternoon, donations and school supplies were collected, at Bedford care center in Marion for the "Stuff the Van event.
“We wanted to sponsor as many children as possible while raising money as well as getting school supply donations,” said Cathy Bates the facility Administrator.
So, Bedford Care Center partnered with the United Way for Stuff the Van all for a good cause.
“We raised $150 as well as probably around $250 of donated goods, for students. So, that will enable 2 students to have full uniforms as well as school supplies.”
She goes on to say that Stuff the Van is the facilities way, of giving back.
“We focus mainly on our senior population, but it’s always important to focus on different generations. So, when students or young people come out to visit our senior residents, it’s our way of giving back to that community and back to the schools. Because we appreciate so much what they give to our residents.”
For anyone who missed the Bedford Care Center donations, they can still donate this Thursday at Raising Caine’s, for Stuff the Bus.
