Stuff the Bus in Neshoba County
“We’ve had a lot of people come by this morning who have expressed a need for their children to have access to school supplies,” said Marie Partridge a Stuff the Bus Volunteer.
With the success of Stuff the Bus in Lauderdale county, the united way decided to extend the program, to Neshoba County.
“Stuff the bus is an impact program of the United Way in east Mississippi. This is the first time in Neshoba county, that the United Way has done this. So, we are really excited about being able to support the community and the schools in the community.”
Throught the day, volunteers collected school supplies, to fill up the back of the bus, with the intent, to make sure that Neshoba County kids will return to school, prepared for this year’s school system.
“When a family has multiple children in elementary school, it can be a real strain on their family budget to buy school supplies. And we know that children learn the most when they are in the younger grades. And so, their creativity is at its peak.”
And she goes on to say, the only goal they have, it to reach out to the community.
“We just wanted to get people involved, we wanted to make the people aware of it. So, everything that we can get it going to be a benefit to the county.
