Online bidding for delinquent land taxes
Lauderdale county’s public auction for delinquent land taxes is coming up. But the auction will not happen in the Annex building this year. Instead, Lauderdale County Tax Collector Doris Spidle says all bidding will take place online.
“Anyone that’s interested in bidding can go online to govease.com and sign up to be a bidder. They have webinars; you can also sign up for training. If you feel like you need something hands-on, you can come to my office. We’ll be glad to walk you through the process.”
All Lauderdale County property taxes must be submitted by August 18 no later than 5 p.m. After that, property with unpaid taxes will go to the land sale. Starting August 21, bidders can go to govease.com to see which property tax liens are for sale, and can pre-bid in one-dollar increments.
