Elected officials approve Joint Land Use Study recommendations

Local elected officials have voted in support of recommendations that East Mississippi can take to protect the mission of NAS Meridian and its impact on the region. The recommendations stem from the Joint Land Use Study, which was designed to see how NAS and communities can work together to protect public health, safety, and promote economic growth. The study made 85 recommendations, including controlling vertical development around the airfield, and informing residents when noisy operations will occur.
