Two inmates, one a convicted murderer, escape Mississippi prison

Mississippi authorities are searching for two inmates who escaped from the state’s largest prison in Parchman. Authorities say 41-year-old James Sanders and 22-year-old Ryan Young are armed and dangerous. The Mississippi Department of Corrections officials believe the two escaped their unit between late Sunday night and Monday morning, when a count showed them missing. Sanders was sentenced to life in prison for a Lafayette County murder. Young was serving 40 years for auto and residential burglary, grand larceny, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Claiborne County. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Department of Corrections at 662-745-6611.
