Elite technique is a sports training company, that helps athletes get to the top of their game.
Started by Cordera Eason and Derrick Davis, both Meridian High graduates, the company aims to help athletes better themselves.
“Elite Technique is just a training program that me, myself, and Derrick Davis started. Training kids around the city, as far as helping them with fundamentals of speed, agility, quickness, power, a mental mindset and just giving kids the competitive edge.”
Elite Technique trains powerful athletes, at least twice a week, in Highland park. But, they just don’t train these athletes to be great at what they do, but they also train them to be great within the community.
“It gives them the advantage. It gives them the mindset to want to work hard, achieve things at an early age. That way when competition comes when they get older. It won’t be no surprise to them. You can put them in adverse situations and have them ready for anything that comes to them.”
And at the end of the day, they want the athletes to leave with a sense of hard work and dedication to their sport.
“We want them to take away the good hard grind that it takes to get to the next level. Body mechanics, small things that can’t be taught in a practice, we want to make sure they focus on the small techniques. You know always be conscious of what movements, what muscles, what everything to activate to get them to the next level. And that’s what we want to provide, just the mindset to be able to do anything that you want to do.”
As all athletes, from all sports, are welcome to come out.
