Clarke county and counterfeit money

Clarke county has experienced numerous occasions of local businesses being paid with counterfeit money.

The sheriff's department in Quitman says this is being investigated and that there seems to be a large amount of this fake money floating around the area.

The bills have been ranging anywhere from five dollar bills to one hundred dollar bills.

The sheriff's department urges every business in the area to be on high alert with the holiday season being here.
