Ribbon cutting: Fudge Etc.

Fudge etc. welcomed the community out to a grand opening in their new location.

“We had us a ribbon cutting," said owner Wallace Heggie. " The EMBDC put it on for us, they just did a wonderful job. We had a good turnout. And this is Janet’s and our fudge shop.”

In the kitchen is where the homemade fudge is made, to accommodate your taste buds. And the Heggie’s have been perfecting their recipe, for over 30 years.

Janet Heggie says, “We started this business back in 1986, and we opened this place up today.”

The new shop is located in North Hills, keeping the business local, with a deep-rooted history in meridian.

“Many years ago, my father died, and I had always wanted to make candy. So, my mother came to Dallas to Market where I was attending and told me that my daddy would have loved to have bought us the equipment to get started. So, she wanted me to find the equipment to get started.”

And since then, they have been very active, with making candy.

“We make fudge to ship out to other companies, and we’ve always had a store front until a few years ago.
