Alabama High School Tours MCC
Students from Sweet Water High School in Alabama are on the campus of MCC, and they are getting a taste of what it’s like as a college student.
“Today I am giving a tour of the Sweet Water High Schools Junior and senior class just to give them a feel of what MCC is like. And what all we do here on campus at MCC,” says 2nd year student Abby Hollingsworth.

The students are broken up into groups as they make their way across campus touring various classrooms and building, and hopefully, by the end of their experience, they will be one step closer in knowing what they want to do with their education after high school.
Hollingsworth says, “It’s really important for juniors and seniors to come tour colleges just because they are changing from a high school setting to more of a real world setting where they are more on their own and they are not really spoon fed by high school students. Now they are at the point in their lives where they have to figure out what they want to do with their life’s and how they want to apply their studies to their work life.”
And MCC is making sure that these students have options, when it comes to a choice in their collegiate education.
“Well you could go to a 4-year university, but I would recommend going to a community college first. That way you can have more of a college setting rather than just being in a classroom full of like 500 students. If you go to a community college first it’s real easy to stack your scholarships. Especially here at MCC. You can be a part of Phi Beta Kappa, you can be a part of the many organizations here at MCC.
