Tru-Hilton hotel job fair

Tru-Hilton will be opening soon in Meridian, and there will need to be employees prepared to work when it opens. A job fair was held earlier this morning at Union Station for positions within the hotel.

So, anytime we can partner with our businesses to help increase that traffic, increase those job opportunities; we’re always more than willing to work with those businesses to do that.” -Laura Carmichael, Meridian Community Development

One of the applicants is a student at MSU Meridian looking for part-time work to balance with school.

“Ya know, with the job fairs you’re able to meet the people that are wanting to interview. Some people, ya know, don’t have caller ID’s on their phones, so you don’t want to answer numbers you don’t know. With applying online, you really don’t know if you’re going to get it or not, but with job fairs like this you’re able to be one-on-one and in person and they can ask you personal questions.” -Alexis Brown

The Tru-Hilton hotel is set to open toward the end of next month. The hotel is offering full-time and part-time positions from 7.50 to 12 dollars an hour. You can still apply online at indeed.com, and the job fair will be held again today at Union Station from nine to one.
