Roommate Shooting Death
Meridian police are investigating the shooting death of a man’s roommate, early Sunday.

Adam Shirley, 47, was arrested at his home, 1107 24th Ave. Apt. A, shortly after 4:40 a.m., for the shooting death of his roommate. The two men began arguing sometime after midnight, and it escalated into one man shooting the other.
After the shooting, Shirley called 911 and reported that he had shot his roommate after he had felt threatened by him. Upon arriving on the scene, investigators found the victim with 2 gunshot wounds to the chest, as Metro Ambulance transported him to the hospital where he died. Investigators also found a handgun at the crime scene which they say was used in the incident.
The victims body has been sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab in Pearl for an autopsy and his name has not yet been releases. Shirley is currently being held on a half a million dollar bond.
