New judge sworn in

District three in Lauderdale county now has a new judge. Paul Earley was sworn in earlier today. The district's current judge, Darrell Theall, will be retiring effective February 28th. Earley's tenure is set to begin on March 1st.

"I've served Lauderdale county for many years as a deputy, and I've also served the city of Meridian as a police officer. I've come to learn a lot. I've also come to know a lot people. I feel like it's my duty to continue to serve the people of Lauderdale county, just in another aspect.” -Paul Earley

Earley has served in law enforcement for 27 years.
