Clarkdale band sends members to MSU

One local high school band is playing their way into the SEC. Four seniors who play in Clarkdale High School's marching band are set to play in MSU’s Famous Maroon Band this coming fall. Baylie Eastman, Callie Goodman, Allie Goodman, and Reid Perry have all accepted scholarships to Mississippi State in order to continue their passion for music. This is a major accomplishment for the marching band considering they only have 44 members total.

"All four of them work really hard for this band. They all haven't started in band. Some of them came later. One of them came when she was a sophomore. She worked so hard then got a scholarship. So, I'm just proud of them for the time they put in outside of band and the time they put in, in band. So it's just phenomenal for them to get these scholarships.” -Andrew Pryor

Eight out of the twelve seniors in their band are going on to play in a college band.
