Local church hosting ballet performance

While Faith Baptist Church hosts people each weekend for their weekly services, next weekend they’re hosting the community for something else: ballet.

“You know, to tell the story of scripture through ballet and ballet, just the grace and beauty of it just conveys an emotion that sometimes is not as easy to replicate through just someone speaking or someone telling the story. The dancers do a fantastic job with their grace and just the grace form of ballet.” -Rev. Derrick Wilson, lead pastor, Faith Baptist

The Ballet Magnificat is coming to Meridian and will be performing Journey of the Prodigal, which is based on the Biblical story of The Prodigal Son.

“Coming off of Easter where you really focus on the love of the Father as he manifested it in sending His son to the cross and not leaving Him dead but raising Him from the dead. I think it falls in well to be able to tell that story when the love of the Father and the love of the Son is so fresh in peoples’ minds.” -Wilson

The show will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Faith Baptist Church office Monday-Thursday or at Harry Mayer Clothing, Ace Hardware, or Collinsville Lube and Repair.
