Sen. Sally Doty visits Meridian

Mississippi state senator for district 39, Sally Doty paid a visit to meridian today.

Doty is yet another candidate for the 3rd congressional seat in Washington.

While in the Queen City, Doty spoke about her recent endorsements by a couple of prominent groups.

“What we are announcing is that I’ve been reorganized by two national groups. First is the view pack, it's value and electing republican women. It is a group of republican women in congress who have endorsed me and recognized that i have the qualifications and electability needed to serve with them in congress. Also, i have won a national award from the national conference of state legislators, they have awarded me the women making a difference award,” Doty said.

Doty is currently one of six candidates running for the third congressional seat. The seat will become available when Congressman Gregg Harper will retire at the end of his term.
