Boys and Girls Club receives the gift of music by Peavey Electronics

For more than 27 years the people behind the Boys and Girls Club of east Missisippi have worked to enrich the lives of at-risk youth in our community.
And now, thanks to a special donation of guitars.. that mission can be expanded.
“Well first and foremost I want to thank Peavey’s Electronics for making this donation , what this does for us is give our members an opportunity to expand the menu of programs that are offered because it was such a massive donation we’ll be able to touch a lot of children.” stated Ricky Hood, director of the Boys and Girls Club.
The organization is open year round and serves more than 2-thousand young people.. keeping them off the streets.. and engaging them in activities.. these are just some of the reasons.. Courtland Gray the chief operating officer at Peavey electronics says donating the guitars will truly benefit the boys and girls club.
“Well, the Boys and Girls club here in Meridian does so many great things across East Mississippi they really have a lot good programs a lot of Children come through here every day so this was a good project for them to develop and add into their curriculum” said Gray.
“I think it was around twenty-thousand dollars or so of equipment donated to them. There was about 95 electric and acoustic guiatars , many with carrying bags and carrying cases so they have a good repertuar of instruments now," Gray added.
