Absentee voting
The primary election is only weeks away. many voters don’t have the chance to make it to the polls because of their time conflict. the state of Mississippi doesn’t offer early voting but does have absentee ballots as an option for those who meet the qualifications.
An absentee ballot is s legal process in the state of Mississippi where you get to vote before the election date.
Mississippi does not allow early voting.. and to vote absentee you have to have a good reason..
"The most common reason to vote absentee if you’re going to be out of town so we’re asking the voters to look at their calendar and see if they’ve got a vacation, a conference, a convention, surgery anything scheduled that would affect them going to their voting precinct on June the 5th," Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson said.
When voting absentee you must visit your nearest circuit court and present proper identification.
Voter ID is in effect for all elections in the State of Mississippi, so you have to have something like your driver's license, that’s the most common thing.
