Northeast HOSA students visit Aldersgate
Today, Northeast High School Health Occupations Students of America members got a chance to take a look into a local retirement community and all that comes with it. The HOSA instructor at Northeast aims to expose her students to all medical field areas and due to studying geriatrics. She thought learning about all the amenities that the retirement home offers would be beneficial to learn. The HOSA students do not yet know which area of the medical field they wish to be a part of, so learning about all of them from babies to geriatrics is crucial to the instructor and to the program as a whole.

“We go to the funeral homes, we go to the nursey, the eye doctor, dentists, we do physical therapy, we ride with metro, we went to air care yesterday, we go to the vet; so, it’s my job to introduce them to everything out there. This is my last year, so I want to make sure I cover all the bases with them so that they are well-versed in all these different areas.” -Janet Trawick, Allied Health Instructor, NLHS

This is Trawick's last year as the instructor and will be a part of a retirement reception at MSU Meridian's campus tomorrow afternoon.
