Prep work underway for Chunky River Raft Race
As we reach the end of May; the temperature continues to rise, school lets out for summer vacation, this all gives reason to have family fun.
The chunky river raft race has been a continued legacy, bringing family and the community together.
With all the activities to partake, it is definitely not worth missing out on.

“We think it’s important to try to get families back out, to get families and kids,as we say off the couch and back out to the great outdoors,” Organizer Rick Lewis said.
Although this day will be made up of fun; its also designed to raise awareness of a common disease.
"The reason why we choose Alzheimer's is because our mother passed away with Alzheimer's so, every year we do this for Alzheimer's, we have a team, Team Engum my mother’s name and we donate all that money into Alzheimer’s Mississippi which Alzheimer's Mississippi, the money that is raised for Alzheimer's Mississippi Stays in Mississippi for research, for caregiver, things, activities." Lewis added.
With so much to choose from, where to start?
“We’re going to have arts and Crafts, we’ll have food vendors, we’ll have a kid zone. We’ll have of course the famous raft race going on giving out trophies for a first and second place as well as the most creative raft,” Lewis said.
