The cost is free: this is sponsored by The City of Meridian, it’s open to everyone, all families. It’s a very family-friendly event. We have fireworks, we have two bands, food vendors.”

According to Wilkes, no matter where you are in the park visibility won't be an issue when it comes to seeing fireworks show.
“The show usually runs about 30 minutes, and you can see it pretty much from every spot of the lake, and you can see it from the mall, some people can even see it from their homes. So,it’s a pretty spectacular show especially for the size of the town that we’re in to host such a great fireworks festival.”
Wilkes says this is not the first time the July 4th celebration has taken place in the Queen City.
“This has been going on for several years now, it’s the biggest event the city produces, we have the largest turnout, and it’s one of the best events the city produces.”
