New architecture firm opens in Meridian
The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting for a new architect firm on 23rd avenue. Davis and Purdy Architects, is now serving those in the community, and both partners, Mark Davis and John Purdy, grew up in Meridian.

“Mark and I are overwhelmed with the show of support we have here. We’re so excited to start this business together. I feel like this is something Mark and I have been working on for several years, probably since we were even in school. We used to sit in the studio and talk about working together. It’s a big day for us, and we’re excited to see everyone here and to see the support.”
Davis and Purdy also went to college together, and one moved to Washington D.C, and the other moved to Atlanta. Around ten years ago, both of them decided to move back to Meridian to raise a family and to invest in the town.

“The opportunity that two young guys have to grow up together and go to school together and both come back to their hometown—I know it means a lot to them. We’re fortunate that their hometown is Meridian.
Both men have worked on various architect projects in Meridian, including the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience. Over time, they hope to bring more amenities to the city.
