Young Professionals of Meridian present Care Lodge with check

The Young Professionals of Meridian held their annual Beignet Breakfast a few months ago in which they raised $3,000.

Earlier today at Dumont Plaza downtown, this money was given to Meridian’s Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter to help the organization continue to combat domestic violence.

The Young Professionals of Meridian have supported Care Lodge for many years, and according to Care Lodge’s executive director, have been committed to their mission constantly.

The money will go to furthering helping those in the area suffering from domestic violence among other issues that the Care Lodge provides services for.

“Care Lodge addresses the issues of violence and the issues that face our community. Without the support from organizations like YPM, we’d be out there on the front lines by ourselves. Because of YPM and other organizations, it’s a team effort, and that’s what it’s going to take within our community.” -Leslie Payne, Exec. Dir., Care Lodge

The mission for the Young Professionals of Meridian is to help the community and to promote networking, progress, and positive things that happen.
