Rob Seal Memorial Drive

Outside of the Lauderdale County AG Center, the road past the front gate has now been dedicated to the late Rob Seal.

Dr. Otis Seal, Rob’s father, says, “well, its very touching. We lost our son at a young age of 48. Its certainly an honor for our family to be part of this dedication of this road. He gave his heart and soul to this AG center.”

Rob Seal was the director of the AG center for seventeen years until he suddenly passed away last year.

“Rob Seal was a big guy with a gentle heart and a gentle soul. He loved the outdoors, he loved horses, he loved kids, and he also loved family. Fifteen to twenty years down the road whenever everyone steps away and they come up this road, they will be able to see who Rob Seal was. What he worked for, where his dedication and heart was all these years,” says District 3 Supervisor Josh Todd, who was also a personal friend to Rob.

Family, friends, and colleagues all came out to honor his life and his career.

“Rob just had a sweet nature and a giving soul. He tried to make everybody happy, and it was a great shock when he passed suddenly not only to his family, but also to his loved ones and to his circle of friends.” -Lisa Pevey, Exec. Dir., Rob Seal Memorial Scholarship Fund

Seal’s father says his son poured his life and soul into the AG center and made it the success it is today, but that, most of all, he just misses him.

“Well, I miss him every day. He was my partner in the hay business and in the horseshoeing business. We were very close. It’s a bad situation anytime a father loses his right-hand man.”
