EMCC names new assistant basketball coach

Former East Mississippi Community College All-American DJ Evans has been named their assistant men’s basketball coach. Evans, who helped lead the EMCC lions to back-to-back NJCAA tournament appearances in 2011 and 2012, most recently served as assistant coach last season at Coastal Bend college in Beeville, Texas. For the 2016-2017 season, he returned to his alma mater at the University of Albany to be their video coordinator for the men’s basketball program. Evans says he is ecstatic to be back at EMCC because Scooba has always been a second home to him.
