City Council chooses new president and vice president
In today's council meeting, a new president and vice president have been voted in. Taking the position of vice president is Councilwoman Kim Houston who represents Ward 4. She is a prominent businesswoman in the community and is a licensed multi-lined insurance agent and owner. The council member taking Fannie Johnson’s position as president is Councilman Tyrone Johnson who represents Ward 2. Johnson says he's glad Houston stepped up to be vice president and is excited about moving the city forward.

“I have no problem with being the president. I’m actually excited about the challenge because it is going to be challenge. I look forward to working with the mayor and the administration to make things happen,” says Johnson.

He is an active member of the air national guard and a member of phi beta sigma fraternity.
