Rush Hospital celebrates ten years of robotic surgery
Rush Foundation Hospital here in Meridian is celebrating ten years of robotic surgery. The first robotic assisted surgery was performed on December 9th, 2008, which was a robotic hysterectomy by Dr. James Purdy. This surgery was the first da Vinci hysterectomy in the state of Mississippi. Over the course of these ten years, over 3,700 robotic-assisted surgeries have been performed at Rush Foundation Hospital.
