Lauderdale County School District picks high school teacher of the year.

Clarkdale High School science teacher Fonya Scott is this year’s teacher of the year.She's been teaching at Clarkdale for about 5 years.Scott says her original plan was to become a marine biologist but after having no access to the ocean in the Midwest, she decided to move to Meridian and share what she loves about science with students.Last year her students scored high on the subsidiary test 88% percent scored advanced or proficient.
