Local fitness center looking to bring motivation into the New Year
In preparing for the new year, Anderson Health & Fitness Center is encouraging the community to come out and join.
“It’s cheaper in the long run to join a gym and get your health in order vs. down the road paying on a lot of health bills and making insurance payments- you know- things like that,” said staff member Amanda Reynolds.

The fitness center is offering a special sign-up price for the month of January. If you sign up in this month, the $100 sign-up fee is waived, and your first month of membership is $21.50 vs the full amount, which is $37.50. This monthly membership fee does not include CrossFit or personal training fees, but it does include all fitness group classes.

“Starting is the hard part. Starting anything new is hard. Start slow. Set small, achievable goals that you know you can achieve. Don’t reach for, ‘Ok, I’m going to lose twenty pounds in a month,’” said Reynolds.

Reynolds knows all about setting goals, because she has lost over sixty-five pounds and also just gave birth to her third child.
She said, “I can do things now that I wasn’t able to do because I was so unhealthy. Like, simple things, such as sitting down, lifting stuff up, or picking my baby up.”
The trick to making goals and obtaining them, she says, it persistence.
“There are days, and I still have them now, where you don’t want to come, you’re not motivated to come, you just have so much going on that you don’t want to—those are the days you need to come.” -Reynolds.
