Care Lodge receives donation from Dancing For A Cause
The Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter has received a large donation. For the past decade, local celebrities have participated in a dance competition called Dancing for a Cause, and all proceeds benefit Care Lodge. This year, the event raised $6,763.22. Care Lodge receives grants throughout the year, but they don't cover most personal needs of families in their shelter.

"Real life does not stop for our families when they enter shelter. They still need medications, things for their children, their cars break down, identification, birth certificates-- things like that,” said Care Lodge Executive Director Leslie Payne.
Payne thanks local dance studio owner Leslie Lee who started this event and continues to keep it going. She says without people like Lee, Care Lodge wouldn’t get the extra help they need. To donate to Care Lodge, simply stop by their office.
