Several attend the annual "Go Red" event in Meridian.
The Annual Women Go Red event was held last night in Meridian. The event is a nationwide initiative to bring awareness about heart disease in women and helps educate the public.

A local cardiologist from the area informed those in attendance on ways to live a healthy lifestyle and what not do when striving to have a healthy diet.
Doctors also opened up the floor for questions which mostly consisted of identifying the signs of a heart attack.
“I want women to know that heart disease is going to effect them, it’s going to effect all of us; cardiovascular disease, and we need to know the warning signs and most importantly we need to know how to prevent it or minimize it in our community, so I want people to take away the message that they do have control over their heart health.” Said Dr. Jennifer Rodriquez
