There’s some big news for our very own Meridian Community College, especially for those involved in STEM fields on campus. MCC is now one of six community colleges in the entire country identified by the National Space Grant Consortia and NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Project. This will allow MCC to participate in the pilot program, NASA On Campus.
This program gives community college students who are focusing on STEM fields an authentic NASA experience at one of the NASA centers, once they graduate with their two-year degree.
There are currently two instructors at MCC, Dr. Angie Carraway, a chemistry instructor and Valerie Bishop, a biology instructor, training both in-person and online to prepare for the new program. To enroll in the program, visit https://go.nasa.gov/ncas. The application deadline is May 15th. For further information, email Dr. Angie Carraway at email@example.com.
