Burgers & Barks at Bonita Lakes

As part of the Leadership Lauderdale's Class of 2019 community project, one of their groups is hosting the first-ever Burgers & Barks at Bonita Lakes on March 30th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event is to bring awareness and raise funds for the East Mississippi Animal Rescue.

“We’ve got a great venue, we’ve got a great organization that really helps animals in this community that have been abandoned and need a home, and we wanted to help build awareness of that," said Leadership Lauderdale member Nicola Fruge.

Burgers will be provided by Legends Lounge, and there will be plenty of activities for families and their dogs to enjoy, and there will also be live music from various local performers. “We’re going to have face painting, we’re going to have a jumping house for the kids, we’re going to have a photo booth—so there will be a lot of props that you can use to get cute pictures. We’re also going to have the Dusty’s and the Deb’s out there to help," said Fruge.

Admission is $10 per family, and there will also be a dog fashion show, which is $25-- this includes the $10 entry fee. “Everybody loves their animal. We’re in a community that, I think, is in great support of pets, " said Fruge. "It’s just a great way to use a beautiful venue like Bonita Lakes, which is one of our favorite places in Meridian. I think animals connect people altogether.”
