Central's Child Center raising money for St. Jude

Pre-schoolers at Central’s Children Center might not realize it, but they’re doing more than simply riding tricycles. “They send us materials for teaching children about bicycle and tricycle safety while we raise money for the hospital. They learn what stop signs are, stopping for driveways and cars, and making sure they wear their helmets for head protection," said St. Jude program coordinator Kim Beck.

All donations to this program provided by St. Jude to various schools, community groups, and churches across the country, go directly to helping those at the hospital. “Every penny that is raised helps to benefit the children of St. Jude. I think it’s $50 that helps to provide a treatment for a child, and $150 helps to provide meals for the family for an entire week.

It’s a way to raise awareness and to get the children interested in learning about different things," said Beck. Tomorrow, the pre-schoolers will host a parade where the public is invited to attend and bring donations.
