Circuit Clerk office encourages voters to update their registration

With elections coming soon, The Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk's office is urging voters check their voter registration cards.

The circuit clerk is looking for those who have a change of address. If you have a new address a new registration card is needed to vote in the upcoming elections. Lauderdale County circuit clerk Donna Jill Johnson says that she hopes these individuals make sure they are prepared to vote in the upcoming election.

“I can tell you as of today, there is a lot of returned mail, a lot of people have moved and people really need to realize every single time you move we need to know it, it effects your voting and for your vote to count, you need to be voting in your correct precinct, it is not legal to be voting in your old voting location.” Said Donna Jill Johnson.

If your place of residency has changed, you can visit the Mississippi Secretary Of State’s web-site and also by visiting The Lauderdale County circuit clerk’s office during normal hours of operation.
