The Young Professionals of Meridian present a check to Care Lodge

Today, The Young Professionals of Meridian gave special recognition to The Care Lodge in Meridian. “Our program today consisted of inviting members of The Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter to speak to our members about the important work they do in the community; while also taking advantage of the opportunity to present the proceeds to our recent beignets breakfast fund,” said Craig Espey. The organization presented the non-profit organization with a check to allow the non-profit to continue services. “Today we were able to present $3,000 from our beignet breakfast fund, which met our goal for the year and brings our total that we’ve been able to donate to The Care Lodge through the years to around $35,000 ,”said Craig Espey. Leslie Payne, outgoing executive director for The Care Lodge, says she's thankful for the generous donation. “The financial donation that we got from (YPM) Young professionals of Meridian means so much to Care Lodge and the families that we serve. We will be able to provide our families with so much with that money because there are a lot of things that are not covered under grant funding, “said Leslie Payne Outgoing Care Lodge executive director. Organizers with YPM also took special recognition for Payne’s retirement. “We wanted to honor her as our forever young professional for the year, so this award is given to individuals that embody the heart and spirit of young professionals and giving back to others,” Espey said. “Anytime you get to help a local organization that helps a certain saving of the population; you know it’s always rewarding for those that give. Giving is better than getting,” said Fred Anthony Monsour, Past President.
