Sunday, organizers with the Prayer Walk of Hope For Meridian and Lauderdale County plan to draw the community out during a spiritual walk.
“It’s nine tenths of a mile, so were’ asking all churches, all people that have hope and believe in this city and desire to see things come together and people be unified,” said Stacy Jenkins.
The walk will start at Village Fair Mall and end right here at Dumont Plaza, organizers expect the community to come out and get prayer in numerous topics.
“We’ve got manufactures that have left here, we’ve got issues within the government, we see crime, we see so many different things going on and then there’s people that are sick and people that are discouraged, people are hurting,” said Jason Dyess.
Organizers hope to see residents from all denominations come out and participate in the walk.
“It’s not about what goes on in this corner, what goes on in that corner it’s about believing in the foundation,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins says, this walk is to show something positive that is happening in the community.
"This is a great event to come together and see other people that are liked minded, because the energy of being proactive.” said Jenkins.
