Mother of Christian Andreacchio gives thoughts on reward money offered by podcast

In the controversy surrounding the 2014 death of Christian Andreacchio, a recent podcast that has gained national attention through it’s own investigation of Christian, is offering a substantial reward. Now, we’re hearing from Christian’s mother, Rae Andreacchio, on what she thinks of the reward and also the plea to the United States Department of Justice. “We really weren’t involved in any of the decision making of it. Of course, you know, we said, ‘sure, that would be great,’ because it would potentially give an incentive to people maybe have been unwilling to talk,” said Andreacchio. She said that while producers of Culpable, Black Mountain Media, and Tenderfoot TV have made this $100,000 reward, she was shocked at the amount. “I was very shocked at the amount. He said they wanted to make it significant enough, that, it would be enough money for someone to move away and basically start over somewhere, if it was someone in that group that was fearful of retaliation or anything.” Andreacchio said the media teams are hoping to bring what they say is justice to Chrisitian’s case, but says they are also calling on the DOJ to investigate into Meridian. “They said, you know, you’re kind of taking care of Christian. We want to do a petition that is more about the overall corruption that they feel like is there in city government and how it’s affecting the city of Meridian and not just affecting Christian,” said Andreacchio.

But, in the end, Andreacchio said it really all comes back to Christian. “Really and truly, they are looking at Christian’s case. It’s going to end up getting information that will help his case, but, in the broader sense, we feel like that if this was done in the grand jury of Christian’s case, how many other cases have been done this way?” said Andreacchio. District Attorney Kassie Coleman issued a statement in response to the reward money saying: “My office is ready to receive and review any new information from any source at any time concerning any closed case. All credible information will be used in determining if a case should be resubmitted to a new grand jury.”
