Meridian Council Woman shares her thoughts on US Department of Justice looking into Andreacchio'

Meridian Ward 4 city Councilwoman Kim Houston says she is all too emotional about bringing the Andreacchio family justice by bringing in the department of justice for an investigation.

“If something happened to mine, I would be fighting for justice to make sure all the I’s are dotted all the T’s are crossed to do whatever is necessary to have done everything I could to make sure justice has prevailed,” Houston said.

Right now, The City of Meridian is waiting to speak to an attorney about the process.

“I haven’t had an opportunity to speak with the attorney to get more details. They brought out some interesting things regarding the pictures of their son that somehow got released which I thought was heartbreaking as well,” Houston said.

More than five years after Andreacchio’s death, there’s been a shift in city personnel.

“We had a different police chief at that time. I did hear some audio about what one of the officers said at that time about one of the investigators. They said they’re some charges that could move forward. I’m curious as to why we’re not moving forward in that area so that some justice can be brought to this family,”Houston said.

Houston says this idea to move forward with higher officials may give the family what the family hope.

“They want answers. They want justice. If for some reason they feel like the system has failed them Which it started with The City of Meridian as a leader in this City, I think that it’s worth us taking a look at if we can bring some kind of closure to this family,”Houston said.
