Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Meridian

Many came out to honor veterans for a parade through Meridian .

The parade began on the corner of 9th street and 24th avenue and made its way through downtown.

"One of the very most important days there is in American history, and that’s Armistice day, which is now Veterans day. Because, without our veterans our country wouldn’t be free. The whole purpose for this day today is to celebrate our men and women, who serve in our military, who volunteered. We have men and women who are willing to serve our country and without the brave men and women who serve our country, now, who volunteer and thank goodness we have men and women, who are willing to volunteer, we don’t have a draft anymore.” said Veteran, Richard Lancaster .

Veterans enjoyed waving to the crowd as the community celebrated their service in downtown Meridian.
