Todd and Rae Andreacchio, the parents of Christian Andreacchio, are petitioning the results of District Attorney Kassie Coleman’s recent re-election. The suit was filed Friday afternoon in Kemper County.
It alleges Coleman doesn’t maintain a permanent residence in the Tenth District, which is required by state law. The suit claims Coleman travels to her home in metro Atlanta every weekend.
The Andreacchios are asking for a jury trial.
Coleman responded to Twin States News with the following statement. "I have not been served with any paperwork regarding an election contest. I am a lifelong Mississippi resident. Attached, you will find a letter from the Mississippi Secretary of State regarding their findings that I am in fact a resident of the Tenth Circuit Court District."
Kassie Coleman narrowly edged out Michael Grace by about 600 votes earlier this month.
